what is the average mmr of the match if a 1k solo and a 7k solo are in a party together? and let say their party mmr is the same as their solo mmr

    TripleSteal-

they cant play in a party then, the maximum difference allowed is 2000

if a 2k solo/party and a 4k solo/party stack, they normally get into a 2900-3100 av game, depending on their teammates' mmrs

thanks been wondering abt that for some time now lol

it is impossible to achieve so, but this depends on the 7ks part mmr,

if it were possible it'd take the value between, so let's say he has 3k party mmr and the 1k has 1k party mmr.

since the 7k has more solo than party, the 7k's mmr for the queue will be the average between his solo and party. (7k+3k)/2 = 5k

since the 1k has 1k party mmr, it'll just take his party mmr value directly. so the average of the match will be the average between the 7k's average(5k) and 1k's party mmr.

          so (5k+1k)/2 = 3k

so if it were possible to queue a 7k/3k player with a 1k/1k player, the average mmr of the match will be 3k.

^ Well if 7k/3k queues with 1k/1k player, average will still be around 2k cause matchmaking while party only takes party MMR.

that's pretty much what happens when you party together and search for a pub, lets say your hidden mmrs are exactly the same, it'd find you a team of 3ks where your team will have 3 2ks theoretically to make it as even as possible

7k will find the game amazingly easy whether as your team will still find the opponents harder than usual

^ ever since the phone number update towards making ranked matchmaking better, it actually doesn't JUST take party mmr, it takes the value inbetween your party mmr and HIGHER solo
although at start of game the highest mmr will show what your actual party mmr is, after the game you'll notice that it's actually what cookie said , [party mmr + solo mmr] / 2 +/- 25
                either way still +-25

i'm pretty sure last patch changed it to that party queue now uses an mmr between solo and party if your solo is higher than your party

some shit like that, aimed to make low mmr games not ruined by the majority of high mmr players having a significantly lower party mmr
