A player with 1892 wins- 1885 loss and level 106 has:DBR 2107 Rating and 99% Percentile
I have 252 wins - 203 loss and level 24 : 1721 DBR Rating and 94% Percentile
There is no motive to say that first player is better then me just becoz he has played more games then me.
There is to much accent on the number of games played, that is absolute bullsh.Sorry
I feel that a player who has 1000 wins and 2000 loss could be better in ranking then a player who has 200 wins - 200 loss..bullsh again.
None the less, it's a step forward in making a system though, keep on working.
PS: does anyone know what DotaBuff takes in account when makeing the Rating?
About where I expected to be, a little lower than I hoped for. Thought I was probably hovering somewhere between high silver/low gold however it looks like I may not ever have quite broken through into gold, trend chart seems to show a couple of peaks right around 1200 previously but nothing that looks like a solid breakthrough into gold.
Perhaps they should include a numerical indication of your highest ever rating and when that was acheived?

I know it's based on win% and skill of players you are playing against, but why in hell can't I get matches that would actually raise my rating.
Check my match history and tell me if you find a single game in last 100 where my win% wouldn't be the highest of the ten...

After that I played like 30 games with jungle luna which didn't really work as suspected and suddenly was just 50.xx%. Now I'm on my way back to the earlier rating, but my opponents never get any better.
Percentile means your ranking in terms of percentage. If it says 70% percentile that means you are better (based on the ratings) than 70% of all people who are playing Dota2

I don't think I have never had under 50% winrate, so by all logic the standard of my opponents should have been moving forwards all almost 800 games played..

as in that win rate does not represent the skill level or match making rating based on the dota2 match making system. your win rate may be higher than them but that does not necessarily mean that the dota2 match making system ranks you as better than them
That would be weird. As the goal of the game is to win - the means used should be irrelevant and the efficiency can only be measured from the win%. What other things would matter?
I for example often push lane even though I know it's going to result to my death. However I have always a reason do it, f.e. to stop a push by forcing tps and getting their base tower to 30% health.
Statistic result, 0-1-0
Actual result, better chance to win.
Because of this play style I have 60% win on Luna after 280 games with her.
edit: and thanks for explaining, I got what you meant. And I already knew that the game rates me alongside such players, but my question is why.. Could it be cause I play so few heroes? Basically 70% of my games are with 2 heroes..
You are wrong in my opinion because they said it based on win, lost games on normal, high, very high brackets and they mention few times win ratio is a weak indicator when it comes to skill. Easy example i had over 65% win rate then jumped into high brackets my win rate changed to 60% and later to 55% because i stoped playing with noobs and got real deal players who were badass but i kept wining some of the game so my score went a bit higher then on normal bracket games.
They said that winning agaisnt better players give you more then with lame players. Another example would be that my friend is a on similar level to me but lower in score, he often gets matchups agaisnt him like one good guy with two begginer friends like 10 wins each still learning the basics. And you rly think if he has what you said 200 win 200 lost games and like 50 of them are one good guy with 2 begginer friends should be pointed more ? then someone who has 200 wins 300 lost games but playes in high brackets with experienced players ? i dont think so :)
Better yet what do you think about playing 5v5 premade teams :) i played with my friends avarange wins in our team was 400 and we got a team that had 20 wins avarange we won without even thinking what were we doing in this game so i asume system would count that as a weak win because it was no chalange to us, we got one win, ratio went i little up sure but still it was a weak match-up.

Percentile means your ranking in terms of percentage. If it says 70% percentile that means you are better (based on the ratings) than 70% of all people who are playing Dota2
At lapsus it could be that you are already playing against better people and still winning because win rate does not accurately represent skill level.
