      He let them release it first so it will seem like valve is actually working on the game so newcomers will be like oh look we didnt have single new hero in 5months because valve devs had huge balance patch at their hands

          Although theres no new heroes, this patch is big enough to affect gameplay by quite a huge bit. So for that I'm satisfied.

              Its pretty much a move to change the entire meta. I guess they didn't want the meta hero pool to be so god damn tiny.

              Plenty of forgotten heroes will be coming back with new buffs (Veno, Brood) and the gameplay of heroes like Alchemist will change. It sounds like a huge nerf to Alch but 50regen for hp/mana at level 6 means he's crazy strong as a ganker/mid.

                          I think balanar and doom will be a bit OP.

                          Also, I kinda' doubt riki will be able to cast anything affecting enemy heroes without being revealed (smoke, abyssal, hex, diffusal etc). Etheral blade and dagon would be the new standard build for riki.

                                    There are some really nice/fresh changes, some really terrible/fucked up changes, and some changes that seem to be shuffling things neutrally (i.e. meta changes) that are neither good/bad.

                                    Relentless

                                      Bloodseeker
                                      - Base movement speed reduced from 305 to 300
                                      - Thirst is now global instead of 6000 range
                                      - Thirst bonus now stacks for each unit that is low HP
                                      - Thirst HP threshold increased from 20/30/40/50% to 50%
                                      - Thirst movement speed bonus reduced from 15/25/35/45% to 7/14/21/28%
                                      - When Thirst is active, movement speed cap is removed on your hero
                                      - Thirst no longer provides armor bonus
                                      - Thirst provides bonus 7/14/21/28 damage
                                      - Thirst no longer grants full hero vision around low HP targets, it only shows their model
                                      - Thirst no longer lasts for an extra 3 seconds when the target is dead

                                      This new BS is going to feed so much. Supermax MS with no extra vision to rush globally at 50% hp heroes. MS ends the instant they die...then BS promptly dies also. Armor gone, now has dmg...this is taking glass cannon to a whole new level.

                                        But in pro games wouldn't the Thirst vision mostly be used for map awareness and team ganks? Other than chasing down a hero that is running from a lost team fight anyway.

                                            this happens quite often, most of the people who have been playing dota for a long time know how icefrog likes completely flip the game meta to keep people interested in his game(change is good) obviously there are some things that need to be tweaked (the ones who are not in captains mode) but overall these are interesting changes

                                            Quick maffs

                                              I think bloodseeker is better on team fights now. If 3 guys have less than 50 % health he is going to be so strong.

                                              84 damage, 84 % extra mov speed. ( God he is going to be so fast )

                                              And sangue and yasha gives 16 % mov speed. New bloodseeker core is going to be phase drums sangue and yasha.

                                                It'll be nerfed soon like a dozen other things. Certainly, I do love a big patch but too many heroes seem to available for exploiting.

                                                E.g. Skywrath Mage with good early/mid game has now potentiallly become the biggest snowballer. Hell, with that much damage output, he's a full on carry unless the opposite side all goes BKB.

                                                      you realize how expensive skywraths ulti costs in terms of mana right? just because the CD is lower doesnt mean the mana cost is gone and if he buys a ulti booster his mana pool will be shit

                                                          Thats why I called him a snowballer. Agahim + Bloodstone/Situational Mana boosting item.

                                                          Thats why I said carry. So he can farm up that gold.

                                                          Its 800 mana cost but with 2 core mana items + bits here and there, he can reach above 2400 mana. Remember, he has higher int gain too. Even IF he is unable to farm that much mana, 1600 is easily attainable if given position 2 and that much burst is very strong. Some changes don't sound as substantial on paper but hey, neither did plenty of other updates in the past which got exploited or were found to be extremely strong.

                                                                        on old patch, the max hit of eclipse per target is 6 with sceptre, now it's limitless so it's more viable to use technique i call focused eclipse. On fight, let your ally disable 1 hero (preferably melee), eclipse radius is 675 so you should position yourself so that the only eclipse's target is that disabled melee hero. Cast eclipse, position yourself. If this technique is used properly and the target don't have magic immunity and his hp < 2700, he die.
                                                                        Possible new meta, luna + sceptre + refresher.

                                                                        So, PA now can deal 900 PURE DAMAGE with 50 mana cost, PUREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

                                                                          You forget that it deals half damage to heroes. Secondly, PA has to be lvl 16 for that to happen. Thirdly, I rather auto attack to deal my insane 2k crit than trying my luck spamming my dagger. (which is dodgeable now too) This new upgrade for PA is okay but not a big deal.

                                                                          On a side note, I'm so excited on new meepo builds. Haven't played meepo for ages, got to figure out how to use him to his full advantage :) * have to stream n0tail more.

                                                                            @snowman skywrath needs to first get a force staff or he will just get ganked all game and never be able to get a agh. Second he needs to get to lv 16 to even use this combo. 3rd you can BKB to stop this combo in which skywrath is completely oom. Take all that into account and if he does get the kill guess what TONS of heroes can pull off high burst dmg. Give any nuker that kind of farm and he should be able to do high dmg

                                                                                  I'm pretty sure all stuns are dodgeable now. Stuff like Necrolyte's wave probablly isn't.

                                                                                  @[FF]Sampson, His far cast range means he can be at the back. FS is not really necessary with good supports. Either by supports with protective skills, stuns and/or supports who get the FS instead. Regarding level 16, he's given mid so he can outlevel most of the opposite team. Even if he's not level 16, Aghs basically lets him use ulti every teamfight or even twice if he casts it immediately. BKB wise, then you shouldn't use it on BKB intensive teams. A reverse polarity or etc stun also lets you cast it without worry.

                                                                                  Not saying he's OP, just saying he's much stronger and viable now with that higher int gain + mid/late game boost.
