Ranked Matchmaking in General Discussion

Hey guys, been ghosting these forums a bit, just reading through, looking at other player's profiles and stats.

Just wanted to show something that by now should be familiar to most who are playing Ranked Matches: Ranked Matchmaking in a nutshell (solo queue)

I'm not trying to promote my shit or anything like that. TBH I just uploaded it because the music fit in so well with what was going on. Also it's to show how the games play a lot like regular matches with ridiculously stacked teams on one side... Or people just abandon within the first 10 minutes due to what ever reason.

Anyway, it's there for you to view. Hope this MMR system gets huge tweaks or something to make the games challenging on both sides like a Ranked match should be. :)

I just had my first ranked matchmaking and it was very competetive...i went for AP but it felt like I was playing in a CM mode where it saved tons of time since no drafting is required

Is the video blurry, or is it a problem on my end?

It shouldn't be blurry, just a bit dark because of how my game brightness is. But the video is just supposed to illustrate the point of how imba the teams can be. The enemy team thought we were a full five when really it was 5 randoms v 5 randoms in a ranked match.

Hi. Yea solo ranked is a bit bugged right now. I think i queued for 2 of them so far and they have put me in with 2 stacks. I thought it was solo rank not team rank. Also feels just like normal matchmaking now. If you lose a few games they put you in a better stacked team to win. If you lose welcome to ELO HELL. Like me. Checking www.mydotaskill.com my DSR just went from 514 to 109. Also having people who troll & go farm KDR/rice instead of win, really sucks.

I read from some other post that your MMR is based on what you do ingame, and also whether you win or lose the game.

I think I'm more inclined to believe that if you lose they put you in a couple of stacked teams to win, because that's what it feels like honestly. And I've had about 11/13 games of ranked games. But then again, if that's really how the system works, then that's a bit of a chaotic and never ending circle of frustration where you are literally forced to lose games in order to win games. Which doesn't seem like very much fun. Then again I could just be misinterpreting the whole idea of losing games to be placed on a stacked team.
