It is great when you are able to play a lot of heroes. There are heroes that need a lot more than 15 games to master them though. In my opinion you should choose like 4-5 heroes for each role, lean them perfectly and then move on with those being your core :)
^Choose like 4-5 heroes for each role?
That's way over 15 heroes, how the fcuk can one practise 15 heroeas at once? We're just humans bro
its an alright thing dont worry.
Just remember though when you play a hero once a month though it will take a lot of time till you play the hero the best you can.
I for example stick to the heroes i enjoy playing and therefor I know every little fact and matchup with those heroes.
You will notice me having a complete different gamesense when i play any of those heroes or AM for example. Just because I play those heroes indicidually so well.
You should not worry, stick to what you think is the best.
Thanks for the responses! I think I am slowly narrowing it down, i enjoy Alch in almost any role, awesome hero.
I feel Razor is also very strong and I seem to play him well. Then Orgre magi/CM/AA for my support roles are my favorites i think.
I love Mirana too but my win% with her sucks.
Anyone else with such a low % of most played to Games played?
well i tend to play only heroes that are my role
or unless we are throwing with bunch of friends im randoming otherwise u would never see me playing pudge or necrophos or any other booring hero
doesnt really matter at all, look at everyone else. some people love to play the same hero 10x in a row, people like me have to try a different hero every game. we all learn and experience fun in different ways. if you want to play every hero a few times, thats fine. you will find the heroes you are best at on your own.
As long as the pick is useful for the group you should play what you like to play, its the best advice i can give you.
I have different phases of characters
at the moment the only ones im using are alchemist, BH and mirana.
Just play what you enjoy man, If you only want to play 1 character(which a lot of people do) then go for it.
I'm a lot like Icon in the use of phases. If I have a realllllllllllllllllly good game with someone, I will play them for a few.
Yeah, I can understand the whole phase thing. My friends who are more new to the game are trying A-Z or only random until they find their favorites or what they like so that kind of helps that i can fill most roles.
Still looking for a Dotabuff profile with higher win% or MMR with alot of variety aswell.
I remember when I was new I had phases... My friends always forced me to play Bane when I was in my first few games, but then I got addicted to Witch Doctor, then I tried Riki and I was in love, then I got stomped by a TA so I tried it and got 3 rampages with her and I played her for like 20 games and had 100% winrate, but then my MMR exploded and I started losing with her :( And then I started randoming in bots to practice the rest of the heroes.

Im not the best player by any means but Ive been looking around and I have around 575 games played with my highest hero only being at 23 games played, the Alchemist.
Just curious if thats weird, cool, does it even matter? Should i narrow down my pool/ role and try to up my game?
