His early game is even more trash than Medusa because he doesn't even have a nuke like Medusa does. Just because of that I guess he is not viable at all. Will be picked a lot in pubs though. Most people don't even know how Sunder works and they rush into 100 HP TBs with full HP. Not imba at all though, pretty much like Riki/BS/Sniper. He is countered by pretty much any early game aggresion heroes with high burst since his health is REALLY low. You build him with lifesteal to make him be able to farm the jungle which he can't without regen. Then you go stat items because of obvious reasons as he is a illusion based hero. And he counters PL/AM and other heavy stat based heroes because of illusion based mechanics of Reflection.
He is the only ranged illuhero. His Illus are rly strong. He has nice agi gain, overallstatgain is ok. So he comes out lategame with high agi, and fat ranged illus. His sunder is pretty much used in the same situation as time laps aka before you die.
Items to go:
Manta/Skadi/Hod/S&Y/Butterfly/Hot/Satanic. Everything with stats.
lmao
oh well last time ive seen him metamorphosis and conjure image were one ability and he had a passive free hyperstone and 2 ring of healths
why didnt they do this shit to earth spirit
like even if you took 1 spell away that hero would still be strong as fuck
my favorite carry hero in wc3 dota, in which he was anti-mage's evil twin brother.
and he is so simple to play. the best noob carry hero. better than riki and sniper.
He is prolly one of top 3 ( if not TOP ) carry with full items, and i mean six sloted. I played him like no tomorrow in wc3 and the only downside is, as someone from top told, his early game. But late, he is freaking beast.
P.S. Yea, you can play that dagon+lothar build, fun in pubs ;)
And i hope, they don't change his BAT
it's a really strong hero.
if you get some early items like treads/drums/s&y he will decimate people.
had the best attack speed/animation in d1.
I used to play ALOT with phoenix at DOTA 1 and i m sure this is an amazing hero. At DOTA1 it was a SOLO hero, normally at offlane because it need really fast levels. When it get in competitive they probly doing phoenix as MID or Support hero, cuz it tanks a lot and have a really good team figth. Lets see what people gonna do about it, since we never though alchemist could be support, also Nagga and others heros.
phoenix is an early heroes. . somehow op at lv3. . good at early ganking.
quite useless late game as his skill doesn't scale well late
Same build as TB:
Standard Build is
Rush Lothars/Dagon
Get low via Rosh
Invis > Supernova> Dagon
Haha nah, I started playing hon before Phoenix came out.
dunno how they nerfed him since i quited d1 but this hero was just .. its like es but even more broken
Phoenix has gone through so much changes in such a short time it's almost unbeleivable. It was fun picking him in Dota1 to lag the crappy computers of a good amount of players with his beam though.
hah idd xD.
anyways, another super strong hero. he can't tank anymore as he has no heal but is very good at disrupting opponents.
quite possibly the best ultimate in game. crazy good team hero.
I don't understand.. the topic was about Phoenix.. why are guys replying about TB instead?
I haven't followed the patches in DotA 1 but this is what I remember:
- he used to be an OP mid hero wit that Sun Ray spam
- if you lane against him with no stun and you don't know how to dodge that sun ray. he can easily kill you every time
- I've seen a lot of builds.. radiance, bloodstone, manta, etc. but i think it's still very situational - the most reliable one could be as a tanker
