You generally go Vlads -> MoC -> brown boots -> Necro 1/2/3 -> BoT. The thing that makes BoT so good is it let's you TP to your wolves for potential backdooring and also gives 100 regular MS which is kinda needed when you don't have your ulti up. Also you always need a TP and late game lycan generally runs out of slots really fast.
Agreed with Sam Fuckin'Peckinpah. Have been sacrificing MoC on Lycan since I can micro wolves on rosh kill so they don't die so I can get necro 1/2/3 quicker then BoT
I would add in you should grab deso/AC if you are Rating so you can crush towers/buildings faster. -12 armor on buildings is huge when you're intentionally not fighting in team fights and just raxing.
P.S. I see you get basher sometimes. may as well skip this if you are not going to team fight lycan and you're just pushing towers by yourself.
May as well skip those treads and just keep the brown boots. I don't seem to have mana problems when just doing vlads/necrolvl 3 and brown boots. his spells are so cheap.
boots on lycan? sure on higher MMR. but I think no boots lycan for 20-30 mintues. Into SB for 3k pubstomp.
imo you shouldn't skip power treads if you're getting necro 3 before boots of travel, as it actually slows them down. In the time that it takes to farm 5200 gold, the extra attack speed and damage the treads offer you would've gotten you extra farm, possible kills, faster towers, faster roshans or even makes you avoid a death. The quicker you take down a tower, the more time you can spend doing other things.
If you earn an extra 700 gold due to having treads over brown boots, it's paid itself off when you sell it and go back to brown boots to build travels, the logic behind this is that it can be sold for 700 gold, making up for it's 1400 cost.
This gold cost can be made up by:
- clearing the jungle quicker meaning you can head into lane earlier and get otherwise missed last hits
- pushing towers faster meaning you can go back to the jungle earlier
- doing Roshan quicker so you can go back to farming / pushing earlier
- killing people more quickly so you can go back to farming earlier
The earlier treads is gotten, the larger an impact on your farming speed it can create to offset it's gold cost. Lets say with just brown boots you can clear the jungle in 1 minute, but with treads, you can clear the jungle and get a creep wave. That extra creep wave every minute that you would not have gotten without treads makes up for the extra gold spent.

I feel really comfortable with treads. with basic tread-switching I never run out of wolves, my preferred play-style is split-pushing, I rarely participate in fights, instead I(my team) use teamfights to put enemies' attention on fighting, while I'm backdooring their rax. so would BoT's be much more annoying? 2000 gold is pretty solid and if you'd get it would you before necrobook or after?
