Never had that issue, but I had a bugg with downloading like.. even i got update it still `updating smth` and never stop. For example 100 mb more 150 mb more than to like 1gb if i dont stop it and that lasts like 2 days and I couldnt play. I deleted whole dota 2 and steam and reinstalled and than again worked normaly.. probably you must do the same.

I had something similar happen earlier this week. I don't know if my comp crashed while dl'ing the update, but I do remember I had to restart it for whatever reason. Upon restart I had to reinstall DotA2 completely. My steam library didn't list dota 2 anymore. I had a dota 2 folder in my steam files, but it was only ~700 MB.
I don't know how/why, only thing I could do was reinstall. Haven't experienced the issue again. None of my binds, items, settings, etc. were affected.

Welp, that's going to be fun. My folder still says it's ~10 GB. I guess I'll have to keep looking for an answer on Steam. Thanks anyway :)
Uh try to delete one of those patch file, go find out by google
Or if it doesn't work go verify integrity something.
You may need to add the directory where the dota 2 data is back into your steam libraries. It is under you account settings. Once you add the library back, the button goes from "install" to "play"

Then if you can't play , even if you did that, you'll have to re download it ( also what Bogi said , i remember when they had they retarded update, that screwed everyone game ), so you might wait 1-2 days, just in case ,they fix it.

Zano, I had it happen to me once a few months back it claimed i needed to reinstall dota desipite nothing changing and it being in the folder, So i started the download and at somepoint during the redownload it fixed itself and was ready to go it did need to do some of the download but i dont rrecall howmuch but it was not the entire thing
Thanks for the input guys. After a while, I just said "fuck it" and went to reinstall. Fortunately, what Greatlubu said happened and I only have to download again less than a half of the original size :)
Yep its valve basically saying you better buy more stuff or this is gonna keep up.. terrifying realy

Hey Dotabuffers, so, I was in the middle of downloading a dota2 update when my computer crashed and shut down. I started it up again and when I entered Steam, Dota2 appears as if I hadn't installed it, even though the files are there in the Steam folder.
Has this happened to anyone else and knows how to fix it? I'm currently looking for a solution in Steam, but any help would be appreciated! :)
