We can only accurately get the skill bracket for some matches.

So dotabuff staff is exploiting the system to find the bracket? Didn't they remove them from the game per se?

It is because Dota 2 API sucks and you can get usually skill bracket only for short games (around 30 minutes).

You cannot find skill bracket by asking Dota 2 API : Tell me skill bracket for game XY.
You need to ask: Tell me 500 finished games with Normal/High/Very High skill bracket and with highest IDs. And causes you to not get any games longer that ~35 minutes.

Just use dotamax and you'll get to know the skill level of all your games.
