Can't seem to find all the pro players on the leaderboards. Meracle was at the top of the sea leaderboards for a while and then he disappeared. Not everyone in IG/DK/Newbee/etc. can be found on the leaderboards. I would imagine they all have 5k+ mmrs..So how does this work? If they have alternate accounts shouldnt those be listed on the leaderboards?

Not too sure, but iirc dont they need to play several ranked matches each week/month to stay in the leaderboards?.
And Im not sure if most of them do, since they prolly scrim in lobbies and stuff instead.

Yeah they need to play IIRC at least 21 matches in solo q in the span of 1 month to appear in the leaderboards. My guess is by practicing for the internationals, they are playing less and less solo q pubs, if at all.

In addition to what XoD and Zano have said, top players also have the freedom to opt-out of the leaderboard.

P.S. Arrow Gaming for one has hinted in their recent Reddit AMA that they encourage their players to play solo ranked in their free time to improve their individual skills. Ddz mentioned that having to carry the team solo in pubs has helped him improve a lot.

meracle's leaderboard account is this one http://dotabuff.com/players/131543130 which he uses for competitions, but he hardly plays on it and only played the prerequisite games on it if i'm not mistaken

http://dotabuff.com/players/91369376 this is the one he plays pubs with all the time, and was rated around 5.2k the last time i played with him (three-four months ago).
