Theres nothing much to misinterpret about the dunning-kruger effect.
It simply refers to the misperception of one's or another's skill.
Which is nearly everyone haha. It can't be that broad. I understand the whole cognitive bias thing, but what people don't understand is that humans are humans and we are pretty flawed. I think dunning and kruger had a dunning kruger-effect about their own research. This happens in all ages, all things in the world not just relating to skill or rating.
I guess so but thats inferring waaaaaaay deep into it.
I just take it at face value; stupid people can't tell they're stupid cuz they're stupid.
But how many times do you hear "everyone is stupid" or "I hate stupid people" from everyone? Especially people who are stupid. Man what a world we live in.
