My low mmr in General Discussion
Reon

welll , i am not even sure where i am supposed to make this topic in. I am new to dota , about 60 games in total. I wanted to try out the ranking games and i played 10 matches in total. Since i am familiar with only few heroes i didnt want to feed so i choosed them mostly. Didnt feed , played support , i got 8 wins out of 10. And here i get 2200 mmr. I am not complaining but i would like to know what caused this. Maybe using same heroes? Even so , in my first 5 ranking match i barely had played 20 games so i would have been just feeding and getting low mmr that way. If any1 can give me some information i would be most thankfull.

Your starting MMR was the MMR before you played ranked.

You can max get 500 more points in those calibration matches.

Being new is what caused this, the game is really good at identifying new players and your overall gameplay and impact is what is effecting your rating. There is no shame in being new and not having a high rating, we all began somewhere. My advice is to keep at it till you are proficiently grounded in at least 10 heroes then you can maybe try remaking your account if you're not entirely happy working up your rating.

Regardless if you win or lose, its an estimation of your skilllevel, not of your winrate. ( I was like 6/4 or 7/3 i think)
And with up to no experience it is expected to have such ranking. Try constantly improving, make team goals and decisions within a game, try to die as few as possible while getting a considerable amount of farming and sooner or later you should be prepared to hit the ranked button again and you will have a great rise and some falls.

Keep on trying you will be fine. You do not have to compare yourself with others or winrate and such. If you want to improve your sole goal should be to try to absorb as much information as possible while trying it out later
