If you are on a very high level like dendi or jerax then go for ES, if you suck cock, go for pudge.

Jokes aside, the last earth spirit I saw was over a week ago and the last decent earth spirit was last spotted a month back.
Never seen a mid earth spirit win a mid lane b4 (they always go up against an invoker)

Not against each other but comparing these two.
Put aside ES being a great support and consider them both mid. I think they have very similar playstyles of getting levels and ganking 24/7. Neither are item dependent and both are really strong early.
