supposedly small stacks and solo queuers get put on radiant more often than dire, while bigger stacks, such as 4 or 5 stacks are more likely to be on roshan.
if you have a better winrate on radiant it may be because you play better when not queued with friends (e.g. if they drag the team's mmr down), or you are picking heroes that are better on radiant (e.g. sf or tinker for farming).
if you have a better winrate on dire it is either because you can work well as a team when stacking, and/or you are using the dire roshan advantage e.g. picking ursa or lycan on dire is way stronger than on radiant.
perhaps there might be psychological factors as well, such as a greener scenery, less hideous creeps and more magnificent towers.
who knows? i'm sure valve did not seek any psychologist's advice on the graphics
There seems to be a pattern. On most people's profiles (riwu0730, androgynous, tefiren, me), the winrate is significantly higher on the radiant then the dire. On some of the very good players profiles (vroksnak, ferrari 430, longdd in short, and really good players) the winrate on dire is significantly than on the radiant. reasonable explanation is probably that pro players know how to use the dire roshan advantage, while on the whole the map gives radiant an advantage (more difficult highgrounds on radiant, more gank paths etc.)
may also have to do with camera orientation and how more people are more comfortable with panning the camera up than down. i know my camera positioning isn't as good when on dire compared to radiant. radiant tends to have a higher winrate in the early game vs. dire in the late game. most pub games won't last longer than 30-40 minutes which gives radiant an advantage
my wr is higher on dires, though in my case it is probably because when running away from on the radant side i keep misclicking on the hud :/
radiant>dire pretty significantly if u take away rosh advantage so seems to accurately reflect that
In general pubs suck at doing rosh. So in general if you do mostly pub matches your radiant ought to be higher.
Edit: I fixed to say radiant ought to be higher cus pubs suck at taking advantage of rosh.
pretty much that, they only take 70 minutes in and even then they somehow end up throwing the game for it
radiant off lane is way better than dire off lane because of its accessibility to the dire hard camp. This subsequently makes radiant's jungle much better than the dire's because the radiant has two safe hard camps that can be stacked and are uneasy to contest as dire, whereas dire only has one safe hard camp. If you try stacking the dire hard camp near the radiant off lane it is easily contested.
I really think this is what gives radiant its edge over the dire. Dire off lane gets fucked because they can't mess with the creep equilibrium, whereas the radiant can always cut a tree and pull the hard camp.
Call me crazy but I find camera angle more comfortable when I'm Radiant. Sometimes I wish that camera angle would be different for Dire.

Well..if you win more on radiant. you just utilize the early game advantage of having closer jungle camps to you. Then rolling on to mid-late without having making a lot of mistakes.
its because when you're radiant to look at the enemy you scroll up, while if you're dire you have to scroll down, and there's less space down because of the UI
Radiant mid lane is easier to stack medium camp/ancients, offlane can pull hard camp, safe lane can double pull.
But radiant pull camp is generally harder to deward especially when they put the wards inside trees and it's annoying (could be the left side spot near magic bush that you need to cut trees down to see, or the 2 spots on the right in the trees).
Dire safe lane can double pull, pull camp is easier to deward, hard camp could be pulled by radiant, roshan advantage and offlane can stack ancients.
I like radiant more because the predominant colour is green. Green relaxes my eyes. If my eyesight is keen i can win more easily. So that's my theory.
Because if you are dire, it's very easy to ignore ancient
Radiant's ancient is easier to access and can farm the hell out of it.
