All items are situational imho.
Dagon when you're ahead, not when you're behind.
Soul ring just gives you so much, you can activate after every rearm... it's very very useful. Bottle only if you can ensure that you're getting runes, but I assume it would help in laning. Blink used to not be core. Force staff can be useful as well vs Naga, TB etc.
Blink is played on everyone right now because of the zero mana cost, hence dumb shit IE blink X core hero.
Sceptre can be grabbed if they have some dull Right click carry, IE pa. Take it into E blade to basically headshot PA. Mostly when you're ahead, but GS can be good always. EB is more of a late game core if required.
Orchid is good on him for targeting out heros like AM, etc. Just makes good shit happen.
Shivas for more chase/burst. etc.

yup
Depends
If you are at my mmr ( 3,5 k ) or less
Dagon 5 eblade makes me cry of happiness
(if not, too )
Bottle BoT soul ring blink dagon dagon dagon dagon dagon eblade
if you want hex instead of eblade go for it, but i think dagon is too good on my games so i get it most of the games
7-8 is very good.
9-11 is common
You need protection to get a good BoT timing otherwise you'll die to ganks or play passive-> dont get as much farm.
idno
never go lvl 1 march first, i have seen many and they never play well
lazer for pressuring the other guy +30% miss + high grd ftw
When can I take lvl 2/3 rearm? I always leave it at lvl 1 but I know you can have lvl 3 by the time you have hex. What if you're going dagon build? When do you get rearm in those cases? Also when do you leave to stack ancients if you're dire?
take lvl 2 rearm when ur other skills are all maxed out or when u need that fast insane nuke.. Generally around level 17-19 u would want to have rearm level 3 so u can have better positioning / teamfight power
You stack ancients when u march the creep waves at mid at around 20-40 seconds or stack the hard camp.
8+ minutes for bots with bottle is ok
9-10 mins for bot soulring bottle is great 8 if ur stomping
there is only 2 builds for tinker
bottle > soulring > bot > dagger > hex/dagon/eb
or
bottle > soulring > bot > dagger > hex > shiva > manta
I find it funny @HotSalza gets it 7-8 minutes on average and yet has a 33.33% win rate on Tinker. Something extremely wrong with the picture here since Tinker's only weak point is before Boots of Travel??
Btw, anyone telling you to get Soul Ring after Boots of Travel is WRONG. Soul Ring early is better 99% of the time. Late Soul Ring means you can't Ancient farm early (which should be stacked either by yourself or teammates). A horrible drop in GPM in short. A 4 stacked Ancient stack is pretty much 1k gold and it takes you like 20 seconds with Soul Ring to take it down. Not clearing stacks also wastes potential for further stacks. You can self stack Ancients in Radiant easily every minute and Dire every rune time so you can check rune + stack.
Early hex is extremely situational, proper Tinker play will mean you get EB+Dagon 5 between 25-35 min mark which basically equates to one shotting supports and two shotting cores. Even from behind, EB+Dagon is good. People asking you to get Hex if playing from behind makes no sense. Because what good is a Hex if you have no damage output (Tinker should be no.1 in farm so it means your teammates are dirt poor if you are too).
soul ring after BOT works in most situations too especially when enemies go full tryhard and block everything.
I used to do it for like 30 + games and worked out just fine
@Vaikiss, what? all I see is a Tinker who obviously doesn't know how to play
@123, they worked out fine but they could have been better. I always deward Ancients the moment I find out they're blocked. You might think its just a few hundred gold but we're talking about optimal play here. SR means you can duo farm 2 jungle camps after pushing out a wave with march as well.
Most of the time in pubs even when ur supports go over and deward they take like 3 minutes which by then means u can't get ur stacks up and if u buy and deward them urself u lose a ton of gold.
Although nowadays i go bottle + soul ring unless my whole team is getting stomped and I have no space for anything else and I have to make space to salvage the situation
don't forget the pusher tinker build, works very well for some lineups
necro, manta, radiance, and if the enemy clean the waves with spells: pipe, otherwise mekans

Do you stack every minute for radiant? With bottle soul ring you can eat stacks at lvl 6 right? I saw 2-2-2 build once, and I always see lvl 2 laser. I thought you're supposed to just take 1 laser and max March/Rocket?
as for 2-2-2, going 2-2-0 by level 4 gives you good burst damage early, and can be used to zone the opponent out, or get kills if a teammate comes to gank. level 2 laser at 3 gives you really good 1v1 since you blind someone for 3 seconds, and the damage is better than most level 2 spells which only do around 160 magic damage, whereas 160 pure is equivalent to 210 around magic damage.
2-2-2 still allows you to get rearm by 7 or 8 and have a third point into march for farming. the key thing is that you have rearm and march is a high enough level to use it to farm before level 9, because the xp gain to go from 8 to 9 is higher than usual.
you often see a second point into laser because it's damage doubles from 80 pure to 160. 160 pure damage makes it a decent-ish nuke, 80 pure means it's only useful for the blind
manta is very situational, since the dispel from mirror image can also be gotten from euls scepter, and linkens automatically activates, while manta and euls require manual activation. you get it if you want to deal extra chip damage to buildings if your teammates won't do anything about it. the stats are kind of crap on it, so the only useful thing is the active. 10 str is helpful, and so is 10 int, but not for 5k gold.
you should eventually get a hex every game, the stats alone are worth it on tinker. if you're 6 slotted there's probably an item you can replace to make room for sheepstick.
shiva's is a good int item for it's cost, and can also be disassembled if you need the sheepstick. having the mystic staff early, but also having an active item (the arctic blast) makes you so much more useful in fights even if you are delaying sheepstick by 2k gold.

Just started trying to learn this hero. What do you build on him for what reasons? Is it ever ok to not buy blink? Do always buy bottle + soul ring? When do you go shivas/dagon/e blade/something else? I've read some guides, and seen some plays, but I'm still mostly confused about when you buy which items.
