Flaming generally causes the team to play worst.
I flamed my teammate who kept flaming nonstop when we were winning and no1 was argueing. Said flamer threw the game by afking. Its a never ending cycle. Just treat them as retards or something, you don't try to explain to a retard in real life that they're retarded, do you? You treat them nice because you know they didn't want to be born that way and its not their fault.
i flame but still try to save/give urn/force the player im flaming, whereas there are retards who will actually force you into enemies, steal your farm, buy couriers even if you are winning.
so there is a difference.
i never flame back because the original flamer invariably cries and goes afk like the juvenile prick they are.

I among all players can't be talking, but we all know our only success in winning a game in Dota is having compatible teammates, a lot of positive and strategic communication between your team of 5 and hopefully you'll have a lot of success. :)
