I mean, who would you invite instead? I've been impressed with VPs performance, and I'm a big fan of Illidans playstyle as it's similar to my own. They're always fun to watch aswell.

I can't say too much about LGD cause I've not seen them play, but obviously they have the god in Xiao8.

i expected alliance over VP. What's more i expect VP to end 15-16th now
and i didnt expect them to invite so many chinese teams but considering china > eu lately i shouldve expected it
i thought they would go with rave+malaysia for 2 sea teams

3 china newb vg ig

but instead they fucked over sea and the us :D and gave 1 more slot to both eu and china.

this year im actually expecting a team other than vg/eg/secret to win it :p

srsly because those 3 teams eachs has a unique huge flaw and i think its gonna get exploited in the international

eu qualifiers is full of tier 1/2 teams and na qualifiers is full of nobodies

I picked rave over Team Malaysia. Rest were right. I got robbed.

and leviathan secured their slot in qualis after commiting to a gaming house, but that actually leads them nowhere.

I'll share my thoughts

I agree completely with everything you said about secret! I was surprised when i saw them having zai offlane! He's not exceptional, he's good, ok but definitely not TI winner worthy and can't pull up the team on his own.

Kuro can do that with a carry role, zai as a position 4, rtz as a mid and s4 as a mobile offlaner! which then opens up so many possibilities for puppey to fix his drafting issues! They are weak whenever they don't get armor reliant heroes! They can't win with int, they can't win with push and its friggin hard to win with distraction (brood).

Focusing S4 in any game secures you the win, that simple! he's the backbone of the team because zai doesn't work as a tank but as an initiator and disctractor and a distractor is useless if they really don't need to put attention on him (because he can't pull the team to the win). And kuro+puppey sacrifice so much as support they can't either while rtz gets the worst lane always!

EG's weakness is the random drafting by ppd that sometimes just give away ez losses and the fact that SUMAIL can't carry the team, he's a weak player and only shined because of the mobility and favorable laning until now. The ones winning every game have been fear, universe and aui! So just banning and giving sumail 2nd rate heroes that are not ez favored like the sad QOP he plays and i bet his puck is disgustingly bad too, same with all the strength heroes and hero's rtz would play that are tanky and risky like razor and pa, would give a tremendous advantage to said team! Ignore the sumail play because he's crippled by his limited gaming skill and focus on a trilane against universe that is a pain for fear would be GREAT! They would only need a hunter hero and some global shit and roll over eg without giving them a chance! Fear can adapt but who's gonna carry when he can't? If you cripple mid and own universe then there's nothing aui can do to turn the game around and sumail will only bounce and feed around unable to make ENOUGH space for fear.

As for VG their weakness is their over the top movements around the map, HAO included. The best way to deal with them is to cripple the supports and get a hold of a carry able to hunt, this is done by using a very favorable and nuking mid with aggresive support and aggresive carry! make it 4v3 and 5v4 all around the map. Iceiceice may have versatility but farm won't do shit when they are rolled over relatively early, and go knows how much he likes to be involved early. I expect dk/spectre to be top picks against them to finish them off with an aoe mid controller like puck/magnus or nuker like zeus!
Take the fights to HAO, always, and win the game. Vg relies too much on the carry to win the games!

though of these 3 the tactic against vg is the hardest to pull off as its too risky compared to how normal games nowadays go, fight a bit, farm fight a bit mroe, no more fights farm and finish, This is, finish mid, disrupt top, fuck over the carry, sacrifice smth and make space for your carry that when the time is right, will join, in other words be proactive and don't let vg control the tempo

@KiTraK UG should be on blacklist after getting caught red handed for sniping streams.

Europe/China qualifiers look hard.

America/SEA qualifiers look relatively easy compared to them.

I think Rave should have gotten invited after the 5th place finish in DAC though. Probably their inactivity recently might have caused their chances to dwindle ...
Not quite sure if team MY should be invited since they were formed only so recently after DAC (it also shows that Valve places value on the players in the team when it comes to invitations - Mushi), probably should have invited Rave and let team MY do qualifiers. It's not like Team MY will lose the sea qualifiers anyway, lol.

I mean team MY is strong but it Just doesn't feel right for a bunch of accomplished players to reform/relocate their team in a weaker region in February and get invited over other teams that have been working hard for the whole year in the region.

Newbee getting invited is a joke. Yeah they won last year, but didnt do anything this year. Ruins the whole point of playing dota through the year. Just cause you won last year doesnt mean youre good enough to be here this year. They took the year off. Taking a spot from a deserving team.

still it would be incredibly shit if defending champion wasnt invited back. even in name, imagine any biggest sporting event, any, where defending champion isnt there to try to defend title.

Name another big sporting event where defending champ was there? How about 90% of Sports? Just cause u won the World Series doesnt mean you can go 0-162 and be invited to the post season. If Newbee was anywhere near earning it It would be fine, but they did nothing and go in.

then they changed the rules to include the champions that were in a slump and didnt qualify xD-> liverpool

VP > NiP/Alliance
NiP has no siginificant lan results while old asus roster had many second places.
Alliance has only been slightly good recently and just swapped out Niqua.

MY > Rave
MY won all the SEA qualifiers it was in. Rave only won ones where MY wasn't in, like Summit or JD. My is clearly better

Rest are obvious. LGD is clearly very good if they can consistently take games off iG and VG.

I'd change the qualifiers to:
2 slots from China and 2 slots from EU to replace the Wild Cards, because EU CH obviously have the better teams than NA SEA and to avoid ping drama (e.g. how is EU supposed to play China lol).
