He's good and some people doesn't know how to counter him so it's like invicible.
Like Troll, Sniper, Rikimaru and others "OP TENCH SHIT".
^ A single Earthshaker with blink can shut him down. Echo is instant so he cant react to it then after its perma stun fissure and enchant totem. Unless PL is super farmed like skadi/heart etc.
PL should always be a 4th or 5th imo.
yeah but ES won't always get a blink in a timely fashion, and the PL could snowball to a point where even with a blink ES he's just too hard to deal with.
Especially now that there's a glimmer cape, you have more reason to pick PL, and have glimmer cape as a 3rd item (after diffusal and manta), which would negate most damage that you'd be receiving from the es echo, and other magic damage based spells.

with just travels and manta ur hero farms incredibly fast, no reason to clog up ur inventory with dead end (support?) items
I'm 5k6 and I've been able to use this build and win games handily. I usually go qb brown boots into yasha diffusal, then travel manta. This is usually my inventory 23~ minutes into the game, then i farm the glimmer cape in 2,5 minutes perhaps.
ES counterpick rarely works from what I've seen. PL just gets diffusal heart in 20min and echo slam doesn't hurt him enough from there on.
^ yeah that's something to consider, but rarely do you see pl's skip manta for a heart. But it's definitely viable
From what I remember ES sucks vs the new PL because good PLs can dodge almost everything except sometimes echo from fog
Ember counters PL well, but his skill cap is very high and he has poor stats. Pros know that blindly countering a PL pick with an Ember pick does more damage to the Ember team's draft than to the PL.
