when they sprayed their shit in my face, nothing happened

also i keep playing with chainmail stuff (except helmet), longsword and some shield that also gives fire resistance, am i doing this wrong?
i tried zweihander when i was running around graveyard and found winged spear and this shit but i can't use it at all, i feel so vulnerable without a shield and with a slow weapon, and i can't onehand it yet
also i didnt kill havel yet, i never managed to parry him so i gave up on that. i got master key so i skipped some shit and accidentally got into blighttown once
actually about first dark souls
do you seriously think that i can run anything newer on my computer
i'm already playing this on lowest settings and resolution and i have like 20 fps sometimes
