any alchemist main players there who played the hero way before this patch? in General Discussion
TELL YOUR GIRL TO WASH HE...

I played when the hero was around 40% winrate in previous patches. about 60% winrate on that hero from those times. slowly creeping out a bit more further with this patch.

what's your go-to playstyle with alchemist? I never was really impressed with radiance rush on alch until just recently when everyone just picked up octarine on him as well, in conjunction with radiance-manta. I always stuck through with going solo mid, harassing with acid, going for mjolnir (sometimes 3 more before moonstone came), ganking early with a maxed out stun. I really hated the previous nerf on his unstable concoction where the brew timer was visible to the enemy.

This new radiance travel manta octa build is unstoppable in <4k. You go mid, you win because acid is OP. You get 9-12min radiance, then you get travel manta octa and from then the cancer is set. No matter how much time you successfully gank him even with an AA he will respawn with a new item and will always have buyback.

      Well played.

I haven't played against one yet. How do you suppose could you counter this build on alch?

        Riguma Borusu

AA and burst down with whatever.

          Hanter

I played him but I had like 15% win rate so I gave up on him.

midas is just too shitty on alch. pls don't midas, aspiring alch players.

and IMHO, picking basher on alch when you haven't had another attackspeed item on him that's hyperstone based is just plain bad as well. I even think basher is overrated for him all in all, unless you have like roughly 2 hyperstones worth of attackspeed and a lvl 3 ult on him. I used to build like 3 mjolnirs first then a basher after, since the lightning procs just melt away nearly anyone you could land your stun on.

^ you get abyssal as last item or right after 7 slot (moonshard).

i have played alch over 140 matches since 2011 (speaking only for dota 2) and i must say the most retarded version is current version (the radi manta octarine build)

                    Dog

yep it looks retarded but it seems to be responsible for most of the winrate spike on the hero... though I still think there are better builds to go with alch..

I'll try that build myself sometime. as for countering alch as he is right now being spammed solomid, I think some decent amount of aggression that gets past the acid spam could do the trick... something like tinker's march to zone him out of his own acid area... and then you make it a point as a team to take the runes and deny alch of them(most especially bounty runes) whenever you have the chance.

My bother used to play a ton of alchemist way back in the day. His ult then gave you hp so it was different, not necessarily better, but in some ways stronger. He'd go right click shit.

Alch is only countered by high aggression right now. He will find his farm in lane or jungle so you have to gank the shit out of both and push towers. I've tried sniper and it's pretty good if you get mjollnir to wave clear, but even then sniper can't do it alone, your other lanes need to win.

Honeslty I'm 3-1 on alch this patch and opposing alchs vs me I think are 2-0. I had one on my team when we lost once cus he fucking sucked and went midas mid. The other team won by ganking him non stop but his build was also trash. Either way just in matches I've been in alch is 5-2. He's very hard to stop.

Wait, Alchemist players existed before this patch?

                            AlaskaSalmon

he still need team to create space for him early game, but after that pretty much unstoppable lol

                              Dire Wolf

that's not true, alch can find farm with hardly any space at all. Unless you gank his lane and jungle, he will get farmed.

                                Flash

Tried his new build several times, only worked against poor teamplay & low hp enemies, which describes 60-70% of the pub games even at 3k5.
Otherwise, good ganking & high dps hero like SF could easily send little alch all the way down to hell.
Still prefer midas maelstrom & AC

                                  Dire Wolf

yeah but you actually have to pick aggressive mids to do it, how often does that happen? 99% of the time a mid goes to gank sidelanes or sits and farms, they will never chase an alch into jungle.

                                    Woof Woof

u can play him as support with moc, phase, blink w/e needed. i belive godlykha wrote it down like 2/3years ago, and back then it was really amazing, you just have to max your stun first

                                      Stinkoman

Minus armor strats just ruin Alch's day because he can be bursted down so quickly.

AA also shuts him down with one ability.
