It's not about that, I can't track my progress.

Read the blog post in dotabuff. You now need to publicly expose your MMR to track. You don't even need the friend in your friend list now.

well probably because the mmr on profile itself changes very slowly

It seems that Geckolimus is totally right, it tracks on dbuff only if exposed in game :)

but the game tracks your rank really slowly. If I'm 4200 mmr and I win a game and go to 4225, it only says 4225 on my profile a day after that match

Try signing out of DotaBuff, then signing back in, maybe try signing out of Steam too, that usually does the trick for me.
