Has there every been a debate that the rankings are no where near perfect?
The only thing they are good for is showing you 100 good players on a certain hero. If you give them any more credence than that, you are fooling yourself.
the argument is that the rankings would be immediately better if they just removed the professional tier altogether since it's basically pointless
how to (partially) fix rankings
- remove professional division
- fix large amount of games played inflating rating
this has been said 50 times over the last year, admins dont really care
actually it would be better to just open professional division to everybody, since diamond division is complete bullshit (high 4k player -> diamond ~7, 7.5k player diamond 10? smh)
dotabuff staff are too busy sitting on their asses with that sweet db+ subscription money to deliver promises they gave half a year ago (before TI)
I think, more like, dotabuff don't care what a bunch of commenters on a forum with inflated ideas of self worth talk about. I mean can you honestly say if you were dotabuff staff you'd read this forum and/or care about what's said here? Because I sure as hell wouldn't.

not to mention this is not some sort of opinion thing, its a general consensus that hero rankings are super flawed anybody wtih half a brain can see that
u have 4k players with 2k games over 7k players, u have semi-pro players with 30 games and mediocre stats over legit 7k players who main that hero cuz pro division inflates their rating etc
It's like 1 years we can read "yeah guys we saw the problem, in the incomming month we are going to remove the professional rank"

But even if the rankings were right, it wouldn't mean anything. You can't just look at the stats and say if a player is bad or good. They give you a slight idea, but they definitely don't show the entire picture.
obviously hero rankings are never gonna be perfect but at least you can avoid having 4k players in top 10 just because they have 8k games with a hero like the slark autist dude

How are those 3 guys higher ranked than !Attacker on Kunkka? They literally have no competitive games with the hero. Their games are also unranked 2 year old games.
Makes no sense those guys get extra points for having Professional level when they don't even have competitive games on the hero. They don't even play on a higher rating in their pub games.
