slark's ult and first skill....
dudee wtffff im not talking about opness. im just saying its very poorly thought out in design
how does od aura not make sense? It synchronizes perfectly with his orb. His orb uses 9% of mana pool at rank 4, his aura restores on average 10% of mana pool (25% at 40% proc rate). So it keeps him spamming orb.
^but why would u make a skill do that. It makes no sense.
It's like saying. One of ur skills will have 50% chance of giving you heads. Then u have another skill which has a 50% chance of giving u tails.
Just why what's the point?
i mean jakiro is a fire ice dragon hybrid but his ult is purely fire
also the fact that its usage is somewhat...limited makes me feel like it should be somethi g else
well, bristleback in DotA is a pig with a big nose, an monster pig who can snort out snot.
can you imagine if you attacked by a monster pig and he just snot-ting you, its all yellowish and sticky all over your body, and face, and hair and legs and everywhere, so slimy, so sticky, all over your body ......
I don't understand your example at all jack nor do I get your confusion with how the spells work well together. Mechanically OD has a spell that costs mana so impossible to spam indefinitely. But he also has this passive that restores mana so he can spam his orb. It works really well together.
It's like oracle having a heal that barely heals for more dmg it does, doesn't make a ton of sense though it still works but when combined with his ult it works really well.
Jakiro dual breath shoots fire and frost for dmg and slow, his stun is an ice wall, and his orb is a fire breath thing, so he uses both heads just not for ult.

lmao i thought it's kitrak on first look
i think axe berserker calls and battle hunger.. in game is ok (i mean, is a game), but in story line, WHAT in the HELL can axe told u for u to feel the need of breaking his face? something like
-axe: hey timbersaw, a tree fuk ur mom and make her bleed in her ****** and her ***
-timbersaw: ohhh am so mad, i will put my face on ur sharped axe/blade mail for the loolz (having a super armor which can rape axe)
-axe: all is part of the plan >: )
i also think than OD aura is.. well.. its like if clinks needed a another skills to spam his searing arrows.. no much sense, but its an aura so its ok.
Because that dual lane only deals damage
True cancer dual lanes are the ones that has enough disable and damage to remove heroes quickly
Shaman and jugg for an example
Not exactly spell concept. But Slardar spell names are shit. His skills simply say 'sprint', 'bash,' and 'amplify damage'.. Is he Usain Bolt or smthing? Sprint? Shouldn't it be more thematic to fit to his lore and his appearance? Maybe change 'sprint' to 'slither'. Bash is fine since he bash the head of his enemy, but skull basher also 'bash'. Lastly 'amplify damage' is so ambiguous. You can 'amplify damage' in two ways possible, 1. remove portion of magic resistance to 'amplify' magic damage. 2. remove some armor to 'amplify' physical damage. And his skill only does the later. GOSH, it so frustates me due to the fact they never change those silly names even after all this years.
Inb4 change to every spell name to slarday style
"Time ball"
"Electric slow"
"Big magic damage laser"
"Spike stun"
"Turn into chicken"
@chikenizer! HAHAHAHAHA LOOOOOOL that was a good one...
@KKK.bms~ sorry, am not north american, english is not my mother language, did i write that bad? =(
@Beheringer Ingelheim amplify dmg should by called something like "deep one curse" or something like that..
The most cancer dual lane Ive played is venge Luna. 2 stuns, 2 DMG auras, 2 ranged, minus armor. Its so dumb. Also wave of terror makes so sense, venge screams so if ur in a perfect line in front of it it takes off ur outer clothing? WutFace
There's a lot of flaws when it comes to spell concepts/names and you will find more.
Where did the lighting come from Lina's flaming hands?
and why was it called "laguna blade"? she's not using a weapon with a blade like Axe's culling blade and jugg's blade furry.. lol
it doesn't matter, just enjoy the game..
and why was it called "laguna blade"? she's not using a blade like axe and jugg's blade furry and culling blade.. lolz
It's because Lina is based off the anime character "Lina Inverse" from Slayers. Lina Inverse has two abilities that are called Ragna Blade and Giga Slave. Hence why in Dota 2, Lina has Laguna Blade and Dragon Slave.
Dire wolf. It just feels really gimmicky convoluted and unnecessary if u wanted something to restore mana. Like most of the time you'll just see OD with max mana because of aura if u just spamming orb.
By poor concept I mean just that. There's no cost involved. If u meant it so that he would just have full mana why do u need such a meaningless rng like 25% at 40% proc. I mean it would make more sense if it has a lower chance but higher replenish u know? So u actually get low on mana if ur unlucky or something. Or if u wanted him to just never run out of mana just remove his mana cost. Or even cm aura makes more sense.
Just lower his orb manacost if u wanted to make it spammable. Don't make something that's gonna cost 10% of ur mana pool and overlay it with something that restored 10% of ur mana pool.
But I'm just saying there are better ways to achieve the same thing.
Another silly analogy:
Hey I'm gonna give this hero 0 strength so he's basically 0hp and unplayable. But I'm gonna give u 1 more agi and So u can morph it into str like morphling and ur hero becomes playable. Pointless why would u do that
"Hey I'm gonna give this hero 0 strength so he's basically 0hp and unplayable. But I'm gonna give u 1 more agi and So u can morph it into str like morphling and ur hero becomes playable. Pointless why would u do that"
But this example is really stupid, unlike the OD one. OD is based around percentages, essentially, he deals % of his mana pool and spends % of his mana pool. That's just the way the hero fucking scales. Also, he scales your whole team's spell output in a way since everyone can spam more spells since everyone will have a big mana pool later and they replenish a percent of it by using spells that use a very insignificant part of their mana pool.
The logic behind OD and his spells' design is actually very sound and the fact that you think a rework into what you're suggesting could "chieve the same thing" because there's a lot of detail and interaction in dota that don't occur to people who do not think about them.
OD thrives on prolonged fights where he can steal a lot of int and his team can spam spells since his aura can replenish at least some of that mana. There's no way to rework OD completely without making him a different hero, and he was already reworked a whole lot in many ways, ever since astral and his orb got reworked, ever since pike was added, etc.
Now I am not suggesting things should never be changed, but you believe that you could change something entirely fundamental about the hero with it accomplishing the same thing, which is just completely untrue.
y know put better effects on dual breath and make it look bigger and voila it now looks more ultimate-ish for jak
youd think ultimates are when ur hero uses all their power onto one attack but nope, jakiro only breathes fire, it even looks like that ncient balck dragons spell except jak's fire is longer
and rofl at axe xD
well the idea with jakiro's ultimate is that you really want to stack it with ice path so you breathe ice and fire as a combo, it just turns out that fire has greater destructive powers while ice can control people
U know what makes absolutely no sense at all? Ursa being able to aghs ulti while in chrono sphere. Lul stop time? Fuck that shit I'm a bear madda fucker
i guess it's hard to explain. I know it's an aura for team. N using percentages obviously gives the hero a certain character with regards to scaling. But I just dislike the idea of. Spend mana, replenish mana by spending mana. Fucking come up w something more creative thx
Its fine, you just silver edge and mana burn the fucker and gi gi
Otherwise jinada is weird. Like its only purpose is to make rapier bounty hunter a thing.
Anti mage...
He hates spell but can cast 2 spells.
Or silencer...
The loudest hero on the game. Beating qop scream, and yet he keep telling other people to shut up.
If you just reduced the manacost of orb it would completely change OD early game. His aura is balance because it gives you some mana back but you wont restore all the mana you use until your manapool is big enough. So early game he does have mana problems but from midgame onwards he is basically always full. Before they made it pseudo random it was also possible to run out of mana completely. I remember once attacking 20 times, getting zero procs from the aura and ending up dying because I had no mana left.
Anyway the spell that bugs me is Mana Leak. Do heroes carry around bags of mana or something that KOTL pokes a hole in? How can someone leak Magical Energy?
Also why do clock, gyro and tinker need mana to use their abilities? Does launching a rocket need magic?
how do you want OD to be then? Have sheogorath from skyrim's staff-esque effect which provides random effect every time his aura procs? LUL
hex in silencer's lore is called one of the most basic spells
meanwhile only two heroes have it and there's an item for nearly 6k gold doing the same
?

ODs aura doesnt make any sense.
