most of the time win conditions are only met by the efforts of the pos 4/5 players. supports practically do everything in the game. camp mid to ensure a well-farmed safelaner to carry the midgame. roaming around the lanes to at least remove pressure from the mid/safelane/off so that no one is severly underfarmed, especially the off. fucking up the enemy off to let the pos 1 safely farm and carry late
makes sense that the most knowledgable and most experienced player in the team should play the role
I think because pos 4/5 in a game have less pressure than pos1.2.3 , they usually have a better judgement on the flow of the game, and so they can make better decision for their team without having their decision impaired by the pressure on the game.
Kuroky, Fly, Rotk is example of good captain in pro dota scene right now I think .
