If I get it right, the only thing's going to change is that people who haven't played for a long time, will have an obligatory practice before returning back to ranked. And I find it pretty good tbh. When you get shitstomped and find out that one of your teammates haven't played dota for months and then just plunged into ranked, you find it kinda frustrating.

@M I L N O R that's exactly what makes me anxious, especially as a support player and Jakiro spammer. That hero doesn't heal and you're lucky if you can afford greaves 30 minutes in as pos 6. He's just good at taking towers and in fights. But I don't wanna drop to 3k just because the hero doesn't match Volvo's criteria of 'good support'. It's exactly what happened in my first calibration games, 9/10 wins as Axe, >3 kda but not the highest gpm 'cause I was always fighting and a trash 2.1k mmr as a result.

If it's anything like the LoL/Sc2 etc system it's not about individual performance in said games but winrates and winstreaks.

In LoL you can go 1-5-1 every game but have a 20 game winstreak —which means you are doing something right despite your score say splitpushing or space creating — and jump leagues.

The dude who crazy high xpm/gpm but loses more than he wins drops in ranks.
