I made a post a while ago saying we need another slot and was bashed by everyone good thing icefrog has a brain unlike these nobodies.
Think I’ll legit stop playing because of this patch. GPM talents made playing support tolerable because you would always eventually be able to afford the core support items force/glimmer/ghost sceptre/lotus/aghs.
Now all supports are forced back into being constantly starved of gold, never able to show your face in a lane for fear of getting soloed by a storm spirit/spirit breaker/PA/clinkz so instead you’re forced to hide in the jungle doing nothing but follow your carries around getting nothing done and now not even getting any passive gold until you lose the game.
Only reason I even bothered playing support heroes again. Now it’s gone. Don’t know who he thinks he’s going to attract with this patch. Worst one in years.
Best patch for core players*
On the other side of the spectrum, core players can now have fun killing all the supports.
Cores being sad when their farms and camps will be taken by supps cause no more GPM talent.

Snapfire in Captains Mode with -4 damages only. Yes gaben.
When I see what people achieve with this pick in our trash tier, I don't want to imagine what pros are going to do with this.
First impression, dont like the gpm removal, but max 1 neutral item seems good, idk why they cant have a ward slot though
The amount of autism in this forum is unreal, if "gpm is gone rip supports" is an argument then why ones of the most contested support are Snapfire Treant Venge Lina, Rhasta and Lich, ones that dont have GPM talents ironically?
Want some gold as a support? Go stack some jungle camps instead standing useless leeching exp from your cores!
Only items you need as a support is glimmer or forcestaff are you 2ks or what? Aghanims/midas rush and other abominations i saw in that brainless bracket. Play support properly or just dont bother queuing as one!

I didn't reroll i just play on this account occasionally so i can play ranked with my friends since Valve doesn't allow me to do that from my main.

If you think they hold you back play carry yourself, i am mainly offlaner and i can play carry with my eyes closed in this bracket even if i have terrible game.

1: The cores in my stack had to do the same. Valve should put back the old party system with immortals as they capped the MMR gain/loss in party. There is no more reason to consider the full stack as immos as it can't be abused anymore.
2: They don't hold me back, it's me who is not good enough, 1v9 doto philosophy.
On the carry part, you need decent supports to enable you whereas as a supp you are the one enabling the cores :) The safer bet is to pos4.
Even if some picks like Naga/PL create space by themselves, those picks still need the team do their part (punishing the TPs you forced, not initiating bad fights, providing decent vision and dewarding a little, ...)
Not going to talk about the scenario in which the ennemy team spends their early-mid game contesting you around map and allies don't take advantage of this space.
I have to laugh to those "poor supports" thoughts. The quality of life for support is ever improving. Nobody remembers the meta, when you had 4 cores (LC/BS/WK/Ursa jungle), when you had hardly boots 10 minutes in, because nobody was buying wards and it costed 150/200g for 2stack obs/sentries, when there was no glimmer cape, so you pretty much died anytime you were alone and core found you...
1) Observer wards costed 50-80 golds. Now free. If you buy on average 20 wards per game, it saves you at least 1k gold.
2) Sentry wards are 75 instead of 100 gold, which saves more gold again. And if you plant it properly, it gives you XP and gold bounty, so you are actually earning money.
3) How many supports had gold talents? 20%? Most of them did not, so it will affect only few of them. And some of them had the GPM talent on 15, which is rather useless, if the game doesnt go 40minutes+.
4) Only 1 neutral item per person means, that you will eventually be able to get some decent items from it.
5) If you stack creeps, you get gold. As well improvement of life for supports.

I guess you are right on the improvement of the quality of life suppressing GPM talent: if I secure a ranged creep and get pinged by core, I will just answer : "FK U NO MORE GPM TALENT KYS ASK GABEN IF YOU ARE SAD. KTHXBYE".
Dude in the last 10 days only gpm support you played successfuly is DW, that hero is okayish 4 but bad 5. She gets gpm at lvl 15 so you have 10-15mins of that extra gold until game ends, its really no factor. "Oh shit their supports are super farmed we lost!" Said noone ever, its literally opposite. Because farm on map is limited if support is farming Cores are starving. I have never lost a game versus midas ogre for example, because in the time he gets that midas he could had a forcestaff or something useful and because of that his team lost the fight and then the game because he has a dead item in his inventory. This is fighting 24/7 meta you cant afford to have useless item that cant help anyone anymore.
Why do you think Spectre Sven and TB CK are no longer in the meta? Why does game end in 25mins if you make a mistake and pick 2 super greedy cores on mid and safe lane?

One exception though: the Dire side now has much better access to the Roshpit
But slot #7, more item drops (less random) are good changes
And GPM talents removing is a great change, in the last patch I feeled like there are 5 core heroes instead of 3
I was totally alright with playing on pos 5 with 1 item per 15-20 minutes before 7.00, glad to see that we are back into it
@Marko: Agree on 95% of your statement, she just needs euls and after she's fine. Moreover, the +40 dmgs on bedlam is a full ulti point to her burst cap.
On the "Oh shit their supports are super farmed we lost!", you can transform it into : "Oh shit we don't see anything in our part and their part of the map because they tryhard on sentries".
Anyway, I stop trolling as I'll enjoy melting those ennemies with the +40 bedlam damages.

Btw people are complaining, how it cripples winrates of supports, the absence of GPM talent. And winrates are going up for those heroes... Funny enough, most of the GPM talent had lower winrate than their counterparts... And now you are getting 2 choices to instantly improve your hero by talents.

@talker a lot of those heroes dont even scale with items. In most cases they were being wasted on useless agh and stuff. At least with actually spell improvements when they cast spells which is easy and no skill require to do it does more lol.

Anyways, its fine to play pos 5. IF you feed like an ape then GPM isn't going to do anything. You can always find farm as a pos 5 + stacking.
I personally think stacking ancients is going to be better than ever since they give 3x more chance to drop items .
The patch is nice, but not great. While the map changes were very bueno, the hero changes were so miniscule that you hardly even notice. +5 that, -5 that, -1 starting dmg, +1 starting dmg, at least the armor ones are impactful.
The gpm was taken away but now we pos4-5 players have insane talents for our damage skills, like +20 ignite dmg (which is 2.5 levels of ignite) ot +125 range for AA.
The only thing I didn't really understand is the +0.3 Nyx stun. You still can't land MH if you are standing directly underneath the enemy (exactly what you do after you pop Vendetta), and it didn't really change anything for long-range impales. Oh well, at least he has a bunch of pure dmg, but I would much rather take a +70-100 spell range talent on 10, like Lion has.

Now's the time to come back and climb back to Ancient, lesgo 7.24
Also, Imma try supporting this patch and see if it's really that "bad" (hint: it's really not. just actually play like a support now.)

This figure is wrong if you shift queue MH (2.5 sec + 0.5 sec) just after pressing the stun (3.1 sec). But I admit pressing shift + inventory on 2 skill shots requires skill.

Lost GPM? Can't contest your core's farm? Farm enemy jungle when able!
Seriously, this patch has given more reason for core wannabe support to contest my core's farm, bad support everywhere!
Previously game is faster and support doing more ganking than farming, but now, many support buy no sentry again, farming own jungle, kill steal and all the reason to tilt you can ask for.

If you are playing support and you are doing nothing in the lane than you are clearly not playing support right and not getting the basic concept of it. Those that don't get the concept of support please ask me to explain it in detail.
