Easy, harass her with attacks to get refraction off before nuking her. Push the wave to get runes, she has almost no counter push so she's either getting the cs or the rune, not both. Place sentry in mid lane to prevent her from meld dodging and have dusts for ganks on her. Also, tp isn't the best counter from my experience since most heroes would just get bursted down with meld.

as someone who played TA quite a bit, just stay back and pray to god that your supports have some TPs when she gets a haste.
Avoid being hit by Psi blades and control creep aggro so that she gets your creep aggro when harassing you. If you miss your block tho, you can pretty much go surrender the lane though.
Also many TA players overextend when they get Refraction up. Try to bait them into running at you while being attacked or smth...
There are worse heroes to lane against tbh.
jeezus, i'm talking about a solo 1v1 matchup in the practice 1v1 mode where you dont get to see the hero your enemy picked so picking a counter is not a solution.
VIPER VIPER VIPER VIPER , she cant do shit against viper, if ur playing solo 1v1 u must buy a sentry otherwise let a support get it so u start rape early.

I saw people beating TA with SF, i mean its posible to beat her without DoT but its easier with some kind of DoT
i easily beat viper using TA, when he tries to orb walk he needs to stop a bit, that's where the psi blades come to play. anyway i think the easiest way to down ta is jst gank him with your supports, she has no escape mechanism/stun whatsoever.
ya so in a 1v1 matchup you obviously want to pick a strong laner... why would you take something that can lose to TA?

e.g. viper, huskar, razor are all ridiculously strong laners in a 1v1 matchup and will probably win TA in lane given equal skill
if you go and pick sf or something useless like that and lose to TA then you shouldn't be complaining about this...
wtf? the point of practice 1v1 is not winning, though sure it's nice. im trying to learn how to beat TA, at least certain tricks to improve my odds. if i wanted to win i'd pick something like shadow shaman bottle crow like hell and take the t1 mid.
besides, a shit load of strong laners lose to TA.
Counterpick her?
Pduge, viper, huskar, silencer and Bloodseeker should do the work. As Bloodseeker you just use bloodrage and make sure you lasthit and deni as good as possible against her (you should out cs her hard!). Her psiblades, refractions and meld come by time, so you need to harrass her with autoattacks and force her to use all her regen asap. Furthermore you need to delay her bottle. You can melddown refractsion with bloodrage. For me its a pretty even lineup, and most games I come ahead of the ta.
Pudge/viper/huskar counter her rly hard. Esp pudge can just walk up to her and kill her with rot. You can also run a veno against her and wrack havoc against her. Veno is a supporthero and should not be played mid, but if you get caught offguard strong, go for it. I played once a game as veno and wanted to go support. Our Kunkka got outpicked by ta, so we played duallanes and I went as veno mid. The TA had no chance.
Qop can also deal with ta, since you have shadowstrike. Sniper can deal with her, with shrapnell and his big range. Batrider wipes the floor rly rly hard with her, since his firefly is dot. Same goes for ember, who has his burning shield.
OD can her just render out with 0 mana. She can't use reflections or meld and her damage is pathetic compared to ods.
If you go SF, Kunkka, Piuck, Invoker or Tiny against her, do not complain that you lose.
There are way harder miders to counter (Razor,Viper).
All laners that rely on burst, lose to TA.
tinker qop pudge husk viper bat all do fine against ta
in order
laser to last hit/deny, march to pop refraction if she goes on u/give rune control
qop - shadowstrike to remove refraction, easy harrassment on ta with longer range and slow, better rune control
pudge - refraction goes away just like that, shes really squishy without it
husk - refraction dies, but after the laning stage ta is a counter to husk since she can blow you up if u ult (and u have shitty armor to begin with so it hurts) and has two ways to dodge ur ult
viper-remove refraction with poison
bat can get a ton of sticky napalm stacks up on her since she has to come in close to last hit, once he gets 3 or 4 can dive her if its pretty early on but post level 5 its kind of hard to dive her with meld
Don't let her go invis, get some silence item, or a mid hero who has silence skill. Go for high movement speed hero for outrunning?
silencer for example sucks vs TA mid, atleast in my experience so far
just played 1v1 vs Silencer and once you got the pattern of his skills you can take it with no dmg due to refraction
viper is a decent counter, OD can handle him pretty well too (constant prisionment = no mana for refraction = ez pz)
Pudge isnt a counter, the bullshit hook damage is blocked by refraction and once he hooks abd ults you, you should stay alive and rape him. He has low armour
the only thing that really counters TA in pudge is his rot, and it only works at first levels where u don't have meld, he comes running into you and there is nothing for you to do, just trade hits. but if thats a counter then its shit cause he doesnt even manage to kill you
as soon as TA has his meld maxed its gg for pudge
you can walk up to the ta in a lot of cases with her garbage range
which makes her have to play a lot more defensive or die to you (provided you buy a stout shield since his armor is ass)
and all the heroes that have silences are magic damage heroes /burst (sky, puck) who all lose the lane hard. the invis isnt what wins her the lane...
25% of heroes counters her…She is my favorite hero, but she is not good at all. Too easy to counter. However if u don't have counters she will rape u pretty hard. She is a little bit like Weaver, u just need to counter or u lose.
huskar rapes ta not sure what thats about. one spear to remove refraction and then its standard burning spear stuff
he only gets raped after laning is over
also hp removal (urn) doesnt trigger refraction

A good storm can harass a TA out of lane early on when she goes in for last hits... just make sure not to pull during refraction :)
I love how 99% of the posts say pick X hero, when i specifically stated "How do you beat this piece of shit hero ((((((((((( when you don't have viper or something like that?))))))))))))"
Here's the thing though, it strongly depends on the lineup you're playing. Of course Viper owns TA in mid, but many TA players would agree when I say that OD is a pretty strong enemy as well.
Especially in a 1v1 situation, it depends on the hero since his abilities are what matter most in a 1v1 scenario.

How do you beat this piece of shit hero when you don't have viper or something like that? I'm talking about a solo 1v1 situation.
I know some tricks, like carry TP to avoid death and get sentries, but aside from that, it's fucking impossible. She can outrun you to the rune, and if she doesn't outrun you, she just slows you. She can push the lane a lot, not to mention the harass from that shitty skill that spills damage. And you can't kill her, because of refraction and insane damage early on.
